CHRIS ALAN BOULANGE ~ Class of 1966

Chris Alan Boulange, 76, passed away peacefully April 24, 2025.

He was the oldest son of Lyle E. Boulange (Lyle's Corner Drug) and Patricia Long Boulange.

He was born on June 3, 1948, in Pasco, Washington, three days after the great flood of 1948. His mother was carried by the National Guard to the hospital since the roads and bridges were washed out. He lived in Kennewick and Richland throughout his childhood, graduating from Richland's Columbia High School in 1966.

He did his undergraduate study at Washington State University in Pullman, graduating in 1970. In 1968 he married Molly Brown ('67). He graduated from the University of Washington Medical School in 1974 and did his internship in Honolulu at Queen's Medical Center in 1975-1976. He practiced medicine for over 50 years in Washington, Indiana, Ohio, and Hawaii. He was a caring and perceptive physician.

In 1996, Chris made his home in Maui where he lived for 30 years, working in private practice and partnering with small island clinics. Chris embraced the island's natural beauty with open arms. He found joy in swimming in the warm ocean, sharing secret waterfall hikes and snorkeling spots with friends and family, marveling at the wildlife around him. His passion for live music and his close friendships made Maui not just a home, but a place he truly loved.

He is survived by his son, Joshua Boulange of Bozeman, Montana; his daughter, Aimee Ekstrom (Alex) of Yakima, Washington; and grandchildren: Nicolas, Will and Annaliese Ekstrom; two sisters and one brother as well as his mother, Patricia Boulange; and many nieces & nephews. He was the favorite uncle for Mateus, Gabriel and Elise Chauvin.

A service of interment will be held at a future date in the Tri Cities.
