BOMBER MEMORIAL
ALYSSA ORGILL ~ Class of 1978
November 26, 1959 - September 25, 2021

Alyssa entered this life on November 26, 1959, in the beautiful city of Honolulu, Hawaii as the second daughter of Carol and Montie M. Orgill. She would later be joined by three other sisters. [Her siblings are Loretta ('76), Regina ('80), Melanie ('83) and Karina].
After four years in Hawaii, the Orgill family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where they lived for nine years. They later moved to Richland, Washington where Alyssa graduated from Richland's Columbia High School in 1978.
Alyssa had a normal childhood full of dolls, friends, music lessons, dance lessons, and childhood mischief. As she got older, she developed an interest in ballet, sewing clothes, and decorating her surroundings. She learned appreciation for work by babysitting and cleaning homes during her junior high and high school years.
As a young adult, she became certified as a travel agent and a beautician as well as taking classes at Brigham Young University. She spent many years cutting hair and had many loyal customers. While in Richland she also kept busy teaching children's dance at the local ballet studio.
Years later, after moving to Gresham, Oregon she traded her beautician's license for a surgical technology degree and worked many years at hospitals in the Gresham and Portland area.
Alyssa loved to travel, and every year visited other countries or U.S. states. She also stayed active skiing and playing golf. In addition to these activities, Alyssa also kept busy raising two children, including them in her many adventures. She had an energetic and vibrant personality that lit up a room and was a fun friend to many people.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carol and Montie; and by her sister, Melanie ('83), who passed away on August 6, 2007.
The Orgill family would like to thank the Legacy Mt. Hood Medical Center doctors and nurses for the care of Alyssa in her last hours.
Bomber Memorial put together by Shirley COLLINGS Haskins ('66).
